I’m a licensed therapist with nearly twenty years of experience. My work integrates psychotherapy, the wisdom of altered states, and a deep respect for the healing intelligence within each person. How Sessions Work
What People Are Saying
"My Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) sessions with Kathy have been nothing short of transformational. In these sessions, I have been able to access deeper parts of myself and cultivate more healing and hope than in years of prior psychotherapy alone. What the KAP sessions have given me is a much fuller understanding of the roots of my anxiety and have given me a chance to apply self-compassion, forgiveness, and permission to let go, right at the source of the pain."
"Working with Kathy in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, I felt a powerful holding presence, a secure base that allowed me to fully let go into the psychedelic experience. She met what was difficult with tenderness and care, and she honored, respected, and aligned with my deepest, wisest self."

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) brings ketamine and psychotherapy together in an intentional, supported setting. Ketamine can temporarily soften familiar patterns of thought and open access to perspectives, emotions, and inner experiences that may be difficult to reach through ordinary conversation alone. The therapy surrounding the experience helps you explore what arises and carry meaningful insights back into everyday life.
-
KAP may be a fit for people who feel stuck in patterns they understand intellectually but have struggled to shift. Some come with anxiety, depression, trauma, or other persistent concerns. Others are functioning well on the surface but feel disconnected from themselves, their relationships, or a deeper sense of meaning and aliveness. The first step is determining together whether this approach is appropriate for you.
-
A KAP session is quieter and more inward than traditional talk therapy. After time to prepare and settle in, you’ll take the prescribed ketamine and be supported as your attention turns inward. Music, eyeshades, and a comfortable setting may help create space for the experience to unfold. Rather than directing where you go, I remain present as a grounded, supportive guide. We then make time for integration, helping you explore what emerged and what it may mean for your life.
-
There isn’t one number that is right for everyone. KAP is deeply individual, and the pace depends on what brings you here, how you respond to the work, and what begins to unfold along the way. Some people find a small number of sessions meaningful, while others choose a longer arc of preparation, ketamine experiences, and integration. We’ll talk together about what makes sense for you rather than beginning with a predetermined formula.
-
Ketamine has a long history of medical use, but it is still a medication with potential risks and side effects and isn’t appropriate for everyone. KAP should include thoughtful screening, medical oversight, and a clear plan for psychological support. Before beginning, we’ll make sure you understand the process, potential benefits and risks, and whether ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is an appropriate option for you.
-
Traditional psychotherapy often works through conversation, reflection, relationship, and new ways of understanding your experience. Medication may help change symptoms through its ongoing biological effects. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy creates a different kind of therapeutic space: for a limited period, familiar ways of thinking and perceiving may become less fixed. The intention isn’t to replace psychotherapy, but to create an opening that psychotherapy can help you explore, understand, and integrate.

Wisdom Field is based in Decatur, just outside Atlanta, and offers ketamine-assisted psychotherapy for individuals and couples. Depending on the stage of treatment and what is clinically appropriate, some aspects of care may also be available through telehealth in Georgia. If you’re looking for ketamine therapy in Atlanta or elsewhere in Georgia, we can begin with a conversation about your location, needs, and whether KAP is a good fit.
-
Yes. Couples KAP is an important part of my work. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy can offer couples a different way of encountering themselves and one another, sometimes creating space around familiar defenses and patterns so that tenderness, curiosity, and connection can emerge. The work is carefully prepared and supported, with time afterward to integrate what each partner experienced and what it may illuminate within the relationship.
Curious about KAP?
Here are some thoughtful answers to the questions I hear most often.
“People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances with our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.”
— Joseph Campbell
